Poker Chip cake

This was my breakthrough cake as I called it. I finally figured out how to make the edges nice and not have to cover them up all the time... YIPPEE!! lol!! I was practicing cake made with coca-cola, the recipe came right from the Coca-Cola website, it was really awesome so I am going to try it with monster energy drink for Robs party, anyway back to this cake. The top layer is mars bar cake, it was pretty cool too but I think it would have tasted better with the bars bar icing but I could do that and then fondant. Then the bottom layer is the Coca-Cola cake. I am sure you can tell they are poker chips with dice on the side. Robs uncle called and said I am going to be in town on Thursday would you guys like to come and play poker, of course we went and since I had the bottom layer made I just made the top one and then decorated them for poker night.

This cake was for a girl who was turning 15. The cake is a strawberry cake made with jello and real strawberries, covered with cream cheese icing and fondant. The favors were hot chocolate with marshmallows and a Hershey kiss that you add to hot water and stir with the candy cane.

In Remembrance, Lest We Forget

I made this cake for my dad. He served in the Canadian Forces until1983. We take time out of our lives once a year on this day In Remembrance of those who gave and still give their lives, Lest We forget. I am so thankful for the sacrifice, and I am proud of the quality of life I have because someone had enough guts to stand and defend it. It is a lemon poppy seed cake with cream cheese icing. It is so good.

Happy 3rd Birthday to Matthias. His daddy works at Fedex and he loves the planes so the theme was planes I did them orange and purple because of Fedex air.
It is cupcakes on sticks on a styrofoam ball in a terracotta pot. I don't like the top view of the cupcakes because you can really see the cupcakes but it didn't look like that when it was on the table.
